Ole Tac Box looks like a Circus Tent

Isn't it great turning an old vintage "whatever" into something pretty and functional? I guess this was an old tack box, serving the equestrian well. Now, we all know the thrill in junkin' is stimulating to the creative side of the brain. I was not so stimulated when I found this box. I thought about what it really could become all sparkling, pretty and new again. No luck but, I got it any way thinking something would inspire me. A few months went by before I got "it". Paint it with a hint of whimsy and use it as a planter, or a caddy for all the extras needed for bb-q'in. It reminds me of an ice cream parlor or a circus tent. The colors aren't that crisp in the pictures. The inside is a bright yellow, the stripes are a pale green and pink, with blue accents. Enjoy!! have a blessed day. Headboard Shelf

I hope you found your way to my blog via Project Friday hosted by Rosemarie @ Sugarplum Cottage . If you found me by another link thanks for your visit. Today's project is about recycling, upcycling & repurposing. I share with you my shelf. The back of this shelf was once a headboard to a twin size bed. My inspiration for this project came to me from the top of a mantel. My search took a few months. I remained focused and then one day I found it. Gladly paying $20.00 I took my treasure home. My husband helped me with the new piece of pine we added as the shelf. We needed to attach the brackets to the pine and then the pine to the headboard. I painted it country white & added the applique to the center of the headboard. This was a simple project. I think the total price to build this came in just under $50.00. Take a second look at old pieces that may have out lived their original purpose, and upcycle to a functional, decorative new~~old piece. Thank you have a great weekend.

Happy Easter ~~pink bunnies

Happy Easter!! I love bunnies, today I have a small collection displayed in the living room. They're pink & cute and look like spring. They sit on a shelf with some other vignettes. Each shelf displaying something different. I enjoy this display hope you have also. Please be sure and visit Beverly at How Sweet the Sound she does a great job on Pink Saturday.
It's cold and raining here today. I'm not "feeling" the weather lately. When does spring arrive? I guess not this weekend. This weekend would be the start of kicking off the "Jersey Shore" attractions. Owners of beach homes start getting their places ready for the summer. Families come to enjoy boardwalk, Easter Sunday is very busy on the boardwalk. Well, I don't think it's going to be busy at my shop today, not with all this rain. I guess that's what April is all about...rain showers!! Happy Easter have a blessed week.

Somewhere over the Rainbow there is a Pot of PINK

Today my PINK may seem a little "off color". I just needed to share the beauty, GOD is so awesome. Around 6:30 p.m. on Friday right here in the town of Brick, NJ we witnessed this double rainbow. I think it's somewhat rare for double rainbows to occur. I was at the hair salon in the middle of a major overhaul!! it started raining again. It had rained all day Friday, the sun did come out sometime around 4 or 5. This round of rain the sun stayed out and produced this beautiful rainbow. There is a little PINK here and there look hard maybe it's at he end of the rainbow. Just needed to share this with you all. Please enjoy!! thanks for stopping. For more PINK visit Beverly @ How Sweet The Sound, she is the hostess of this ever growing event.

Easter Candy Favor

Today is my first time here at Project Friday, Rosemarie at Sugarplum Cottage is a very creative host please stop by and see all the great things she creates. This is my interpretation of an Easter candy favor. The original favor was something I found in a craft magazine. It looked like a "firecracker". It seemed easy to re-create. My favor is a wrapping paper tube cut to about 6 inches long. I decoupaged it with tissue paper (love decoupage) added the crepe paper around the top, glued the egg on the inside of the tube. (the egg was purchased already glittered on the stick) embellished with glitter and ribbons. Oh, I can't forget the little chickie on the back. The base is a piece of cardboard with a little piece of tinsel. I thought the favor would be cute filled with Easter goodies. I printed the Easter graphics on card stock used a little more decoupage. I will try this again next time I plan on using a paper towel roll or t.p. roll. Very easy and fun good project to have the children get involved with.
